admĭnĭcŭlo, āvi, ātum, 1, v. a. [adminiculum] (orig. belonging to agriculture and botany), to prop up, to support.

Hence Varr. L. L. 8, § 44 Müll., calls adverbs partes adminiculandi (orationem), auxiliaries of discourse.
