gŭla, ae, f. [root gar, to swallow; Sanscr. gir-āmi; Gr. βορ- in βορά, βιβρώσκω; cf.: voro, gurges, glutio, v. Curt. Gr. Etym. p. 470], the gullet, weasand, throat (cf.: faux, guttur, jugulum).
