suppressĭo (subp-), ōnis, f. [supprimo], a pressing down or under, suppression, i. e.,

  1. * I. A keeping back, retaining of money, embezzlement: praedae ac suppressiones judiciales, Cic. Clu. 25, 68.
  2. * II. In medic. lang., a sense of oppression: nocturnae, i. e. the nightmare, Plin. 27, 10, 60, § 87.
