- II. Meton., to compel, constrain (eccl. Lat.): quicumque te angariaverit mille passus (vadere), vade cum illo et alia duo, Vulg. Matt. 5, 41: nunc angariaverunt, ut tollant crucem ejus, ib. ib. 27, 32; so ib. Marc. 15, 21.
