aglaspis, ĭdis, m., = ΑΓΛΑΣΠΙΣ, i. e. ἀγλαόσ-ἀσπίς (with a glittering shield), soldiers with bright shields, Liv. 44, 41 (others, as Weissenb. and Madv., perh. more correctly read chalcaspides, with brazen shields).
