Mönster (af lat. monstrum): exemplum, exemplar (om personer och saker, i yttre och inre mening); specimen (prof); forma, formula (mönsterform); ett vackert broderimönster pulcherrimum (pingendi) exemplum; efter m-t af – ad exemplum aliquod; taga ngt till m. alqd ad imitandum sibi proponere; taga ngn till m. för sitt handlingssätt ad alicujus mores (in alicujus velut unici exempli mores, L.) se fingere, se conformare; han var ett m. af flit, ostrafflighet o. s. v. erat exemplum, specimen industriae, innocentiae.
