scriptūrārĭus, a, um, adj. [scriptura, II. B. 1. a.].

  1. I. Of or belonging to the tax on pastures: scripturarius ager publicus appellatur, in quo ut pecora pascantur certum aes est: quia publicanus scribendo conficit rationem cum pastore, Fest. p. 333 Müll.
  2. II. Subst.: scriptūrārĭus, ii, m., one who collected the tax on pasturage, Lucil. ap. Non. 38, 5 (acc. to Non. an ancient name for tabularius).
